Sixth Form Applications Now Open

We are delighted to announce that applications for entry into our Sixth Form are now open.

Each year, we welcome a large number of external applicants into our vibrant Sixth Form community - we typically welcome between 50 and 80 new students each year. Newcomers bring a real richness to life at Wallington, contributing fresh perspectives, new talents, and a strong sense of diversity to our cohort. Many of our external students go on to become Senior Prefects and leaders within the school, reflecting how well they integrate and how quickly they feel at home here.

Wallington offers a broad and ambitious curriculum, including subjects not available in many other local sixth forms, alongside exceptional pastoral care and support for next steps. Our Sixth Form, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in March 2025, continues to deliver exceptional outcomes for students. Last year, 22% of all entries were awarded an A*, and 56% achieved grades A*–A; the average A Level grade achieved by a student was an A-

The majority of our leavers go on to top universities including members of the Russell Group, with students each year securing places at Oxford and Cambridge, as well as on highly competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Computer Science and Economics. Equally, our tailored support for apprenticeships and specialist application pathways ensures that every student is guided towards the route that best matches their aspirations.

Entrance Criteria

To join our Sixth Form, students need a minimum of:

  • Grade 6 in both English and Maths
  • An average grade of 6 across their best eight GCSE subjects
  • Additional subject-specific requirements for most A Level courses (outlined in our prospectus here)

A small number of students, including those taking Further Mathematics, study four A Levels. These students must meet a higher entry threshold. Places are awarded on the basis of best 8 average point score at GCSE, with priority given to:

  • Looked After Children
  • Those in receipt of Pupil Premium
  • Young Carers

How to Apply

All applications are submitted online via Applicaa using https://wallingtongirls.applicaa.com/sixthform

As part of your application, we ask your current school to provide predicted grades. These are not used to make conditional offers – Wallington does not issue conditional offers. Predicted grades simply help us indicate how likely you are to meet the criteria in August. Once applications close on 2nd February, you will hear from us later in the spring term. A selected group of applicants will be invited to attend welcome events and our Induction Day. Offers are then sent out on GCSE Results Day.

We warmly encourage students from all backgrounds and schools to apply. Whether your passion lies in the Arts, Humanities, Sciences, or a highly competitive specialist pathway, our Sixth Form offers outstanding academic teaching, exceptional careers guidance, and a community where every student belongs.

We look forward to receiving your application.
