Year 7 Admissions

As a Grammar School, our entrance processes will be slightly different and start earlier in your child’s education. All students looking to join us for Year 7 need to be registered for and undertake the Selective Eligibility Test (SET). The SET registration normally opens annually in May, when your child is in year 5. Those who pass the SET then need to sit and pass both parts of the Nonsuch & Wallington Second Stage Entrance Examination (NWSSEE) in order to be eligible for a place. The SET and NWSSEE normally take place in September/October, when your child is in year 6.

Our entrance test is broadly based on the KS2 curriculum and we do not consider it to be necessary for children to be tutored in order to gain access to the entrance test. We never allow 11+ tutoring companies in our schools.

Please select the correct year of entry below for more information regarding Year 7 entry.

Sixth Form Admissions

Information regarding sixth form admissions is available by clicking on Curriculum, Sixth Form and then admissions or by clicking here

In recent years, over 85% of our current Year 11 students opt to continue their A Level education with us, a factor we feel reflects the sense of belonging we encourage in the students and the quality of teaching we provide. Each year we also have between 50 and 70 new students joining our school community who make a valued contribution to the school and attain highly in their A Levels.

In both 2021 and 2022, the A Level results for WHSG have been ranked as the highest in the borough and in 2022 resulted in WHSG being ranked the 8th Best Girls' State secondary school in England, by the Times 2022, with over 64% of the 2022 A level results being awarded a A/A*.

Places for the Sixth Form are in demand and new students are admitted inline with our Admissions Policy and on their actual GCSE grades. We do not make offers based on predicted grades to ensure that no student is disadvantaged by the predictions their school may award.

Our Sixth Form open evening for Sept 2024 entry was held on Thursday 19th October 2023. The Sixth Form applications opened after this event and closed early Jan 2024.
