Wallington High School for Girls

Ofsted 2025 rating: Outstanding

Wallington High School for Girls Rated Outstanding in All Areas by Ofsted

We are delighted to share the outcome of our Ofsted inspection, which took place on 18th and 19th March 2025. Wallington High School for Girls has been awarded Outstanding in all areas: the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and sixth-form provision.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, expertise and collective effort of our exceptional staff, students, and wider school community. The inspectors praised the school’s ambitious curriculum, expert teaching, strong leadership and inclusive ethos, all of which contribute to an outstanding learning environment where every student is supported to thrive.

In their report, inspectors described pupils as “safe, settled and happy,” noting that their behaviour is “exceptional” and their relationships with one another are respectful, collaborative and uplifting. They highlighted the school’s culture of academic excellence and character development, commenting that pupils “build each other up” and are proud to work hard.

The report recognises the expertise of our teachers and the effectiveness of our pastoral care. Inspectors commented on the strong sense of community and the high quality of professional development offered to staff. They found that all students, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, achieve exceptionally well.

Our sixth form was also celebrated, with inspectors noting that students are “brilliantly supported” in planning for their futures, and that the guidance and preparation they receive are “exceptional.” The wide range of clubs, leadership opportunities, and enrichment activities were also praised as contributing to students’ personal development and growing independence.

Headteacher Tracey O’Brien said: "We are immensely proud of this outcome. It reflects the hard work, integrity and ambition of our entire school community. At Wallington, we are committed not only to academic success but to nurturing confident, curious and courageous young people. This report affirms that commitment, and we are excited to continue building on this success."

We would like to thank all our staff, students, parents, governors and the Girls’ Learning Trust for their continued support and belief in the work we do. This is a moment of celebration for our whole community — and a springboard for even greater things to come.
