Humanities Scholars Prize

This half term, the Humanities Department launched the Humanities Scholars Prize. Students were invited to write an essay in one of the Humanities disciplines: History, Geography, Politics, Economics, or Philosophy. The competition challenged students to think deeply and critically, with questions such as Is democracy in crisis? and Is it ever wrong to do the right thing for the wrong reasons? We received a large number of entries from across the school and our prefects greatly enjoyed creating a shortlist of outstanding work.

The finalists were judged by our CEO, Dr Tom Flynn, and our Director of Humanities, Mrs Bochenski, and a winner was chosen: Daniya in Year 10.

Special mention should also go to Grace in Year 9, Ananya in Year 9, and Anna in Year 11. The judges were particularly impressed by the originality of ideas, the cross-disciplinary approach and the depth of thinking demonstrated in the essays.

Well done students!
